Election to Drupal Association At-Large Board Member Position Announced
Drupal Election 2023 have been announced, bringing with them the opportunity to shape the community's future. After serving the two-year term from 2021-23 as an elected At-Large board member, Mike Herchel is stepping down. In his place, a new community member will be elected for 2023-2025.
There are two At-Large board member positions for the community representatives on the Drupal Association Director Board. Every year, one post is vacated, and another person takes the place. The tenure of each member is for two years. Niki Flores is the other At-Large board member serving the community for 2022-24. She was elected last year, and her tenure will end in 2024.
This annual election marks a significant moment for the Drupal Association. With one open at-large board seat to be filled, the process promises a chance for new leadership to continue driving the community's progress.
The timeline for Elections 2023 is outlined to ensure a smooth process. Nominations open on August 14 and close on August 23. Following this, candidate names will be announced on August 24. This will be followed by a period from August 24 to September 11 for the community to get to know the candidates, fostering informed decision-making.
The nominations are self-nominated, reflecting the Association's emphasis on candidates' willingness and ability to serve. Interested community members are encouraged to submit their self-nominations via email, providing information about their background, motivations for joining the board, qualifications, and association membership status.
Further engagement is expected; candidates should be ready for open community forums on September 19. Voting opens on September 12 and closes on October 05, with the new board member to be ratified from October 06 to 16.
The announcement of the new board member will be made during the DrupalCon Lille Public Board Meeting. As the community prepares for the Elections, the Drupal Association looks forward to welcoming a new board member who will contribute to the organisation's ongoing success.
