DrupalSouth 2024 Steering Committee Elections: Call for Candidates
The 2024 DrupalSouth Steering Committee has announced a call for candidates ahead of its upcoming elections. Community members from Australia and New Zealand are encouraged to self-nominate for the five available seats, with the goal of ensuring gender and geographic equality. At least two men and two women and two representatives from each country will be elected. The Chairperson will be selected from the successful candidates by the representatives themselves.
Nominations opened on 24 September 2024 and will close on 10 October 2024, with voting taking place between 14 and 28 October 2024. The results will be announced in the week of 11 November 2024. The election will fill all committee positions on the following basis: three seats for the term ending in November 2026, and two seats for the term ending in May 2027. This staggered renewal process helps maintain continuity between elections.
Committee members will be voted on according to specific guidelines. There must be at least two men and two women to ensure gender equality and at least two representatives from both Australia and New Zealand to ensure geographic equality. The Chairperson will be chosen by the five elected representatives from among themselves.
Interested candidates should self-nominate by completing the Google form before Thursday, 10 October 2024. If the form is not accessible, alternative arrangements can be made by contacting [email protected].
The Steering Committee, which has operated since 2019, focuses on ensuring the continuity of DrupalSouth events and supporting the Drupal community in Australia and New Zealand. Mentorship and support are available for new members, and those interested in contributing outside of the committee can also find opportunities to get involved. Read more here.
