Case Study: Drupal Framework Supports University of Amsterdam's JobBoard Platform

The University of Amsterdam, in collaboration with Emble, introduced "JobBoard", a cutting-edge platform connecting students and recent graduates with top companies. Designed with a decoupled architecture leveraging Drupal and React, the platform delivers a seamless user experience for job searches, internships, and career development.

"JobBoard" is more than a traditional job site; it bridges academia and the professional world. Students can track internships approved for academic credits, receive personalized job alerts, save opportunities, and explore company profiles and events. This comprehensive functionality empowers students to make informed career decisions while meeting academic requirements.

The platform’s decoupled setup—Drupal for the backend and React for the frontend—ensures scalability, security, and flexibility. Emble overcame technical challenges, such as integrating advanced filters for credit-approved internships and maintaining a responsive user interface. The result is a dynamic system facilitating communication between students, universities, and businesses.

Emble’s contributions to the Drupal community during this project included enhancements to key modules, developing the One Time Login Rest module, and creating a TypeScript-based Drupal SDK. These innovations strengthen the broader Drupal ecosystem and simplify decoupled development.
