MariaDB Releases Q1 2025 Maintenance Updates With Backported Features
MariaDB has rolled out its Q1 2025 Enterprise Server maintenance updates, delivering significant performance, security, and usability enhancements across versions 11.4.5-3, 10.6.21-17, and 10.5.28-22.
The standout feature in version 11.4.5-3 is the introduction of vector search capability, designed to support AI-powered and advanced search workloads. Additional enhancements include the generation of Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) in JSON format, increased visibility for InnoDB deadlock queries, and support for MySQL 8.0 binary log events.
A new --skip-freed-pages
parameter was added to Innochecksum, and visibility into Galera protocol versions is now available via SHOW STATUS, contingent on the installation of Galera 26.4.21. These updates also integrate MariaDB ColumnStore 23.10.3, aligning with enterprise data warehousing needs.
The same feature set has been partially backported to versions 10.6.21-17 and 10.5.28-22, enabling organizations on older platforms to access critical functionalities without undergoing full version upgrades.
These updates are part of MariaDB’s ongoing strategy to deliver enterprise-grade reliability and flexibility, supporting mission-critical applications while addressing customer demand for backported features.
