Metadrop's “Content First” Module Adds Text-Only View for Easier Content Review

Metadrop has released a new Drupal module called 'Content First', designed to simplify how content teams access and review published content. Created by Jorge Tutor and maintained by Jorge and Ricardo Sanz Ante, the module introduces a new “Content First” tab on node pages that displays a stripped-down, text-only version of the page—free from images, layout, and media. This allows editors, writers, and designers to focus purely on the words, supporting workflows like content reviews, UX writing, pre-design validation, and accessibility checks.

The module encourages a true content-first approach by making it easier to work with real, live content throughout a project’s lifecycle. It works out of the box with all content types, requires only Drupal core’s Node module, and involves no additional configuration or dependencies. Permissions can be assigned to control access to the feature. Metadrop maintains the module as part of its broader commitment to sustainable content practices and invites community contributions as documentation and future versions develop.
