JetBrains to Host Free Virtual Event Celebrating 30 Years of PHP
JetBrains will host PHPVerse 2025, a free virtual event on June 17, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the PHP programming language.
The event will take place online from 13:30 to 19:00 CET (07:30–13:00 EST, 11:30–17:00 UTC) and is open to the public. It will feature expert talks, panel discussions, and interactive sessions focusing on PHP’s legacy and its future.
Notable speakers include Laravel creator Taylor Otwell, Symfony core developer Nicolas Grekas, Laracasts founder Jeffrey Way, Laravel Daily creator Povilas Korop, SymfonyCasts instructor Kevin Bond, and FrankenPHP founder Kévin Dunglas. Other speakers include Cheuck Ting Ho and PHP Foundation leaders Roman Pronskiy and Gina Banyard.
The agenda features sessions on the evolution of PHP, new developments in Symfony and Laravel, AI’s growing role in tech, future directions in PHP education, and a special announcement for PhpStorm users. Attendees can also expect community Q&As, anniversary merchandise, and giveaways.
Event hosts are Nils Adermann, co-founder of Packagist, and Brent Roose, developer advocate at JetBrains.
The event is supported by community partners including Laravel, Symfony, Laracasts, SymfonyCasts, the PHP Foundation, Private Packagist, and the Dutch Laravel Foundation.
