Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2025 and Drupal Community Events on May 15

Digital inclusion and open-source collaboration will headline four major events happening May 15, 2025, spanning cities, time zones, and platforms. From discussions on accessibility in Denver to Drupal community meetups across the U.S. and Europe, the day offers opportunities for connection, learning, and innovation.

The University of Denver will host a Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) event at The Community Commons, Room 1700 (2055 E Evans Ave, Denver, CO). Open to both in-person and virtual attendees, the event will feature a panel of DU community members and guest speakers sharing stories on digital access and disability inclusion. GAAD aims to engage individuals and organizations in critical conversations around inclusive digital design.

At 2:00 PM EDT, the Chattanooga Drupal Users Group will meet at the Code Journeymen offices and online. Topics will include Drupal 10/11, site building, theming with Single Directory Components, Git, and more. The event is led by organizers Lee Walker, Bo Shipley, Jason Bugiada, and Bernardo Martinez, with Lee also listed as a speaker.

Also at 2:00 PM CDT, the Omaha Drupal Meetup will convene in person at The Mill on Leavenworth (3105 Leavenworth St, Omaha, NE). With DrupalCon Atlanta fresh in mind, attendees are invited to share takeaways, ask questions, and connect with local developers in an informal setting.

Capping off the day, Drupal Rioja will go live on YouTube at 9:00 PM CEST for its debut event, “Drupal se viste de WordPress.” The session, led by Francisco Ruiz-Alejos, will explore key differences between WordPress and Drupal, followed by a hands-on demo of a new Drupal CMS distribution built to simplify content management.
