DrupalCon Vienna 2025 Adopts Plant-Forward, Waste-Reducing Catering Plan
As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability, DrupalCon Europe has announced new environmentally conscious catering measures for DrupalCon Vienna 2025, taking place from 14 to 17 October. The initiative aims to reduce environmental impact while also ensuring inclusivity and responsible resource use during the event.
Catering at this year’s conference will feature 100% plant-forward menus, offering only vegan and pescetarian options. Ingredients will be locally sourced, seasonal, and organic wherever possible. To further reduce waste, all meals will be served using reusable or compostable ware, eliminating single-use disposables entirely.
Organisers will also collect dietary preferences in advance to better match attendee needs and minimise food waste. Any leftover food will be safely donated to partner organisations, including the Red Cross, helping to support the local community.
These practices mark a significant step toward more sustainable and socially conscious Drupal events, aligning with broader goals of environmental responsibility and community care. More details will be shared with attendees ahead of the event.
