Drupal 11.2.3 Released with Key Compatibility Fixes

Drupal has released version 11.2.3, a patch update addressing several bugs in the 11.2.x branch. This release is production-ready and will receive security coverage until June 2026.

The update restores compatibility with both PHPStan 1.x and 2.x after a constraint change in Drupal 11.2.0 unintentionally dropped PHPStan 1.x support, affecting continuous integration for many contributed projects. Drupal core remains compliant with PHPStan 2.x but may not scan fully under PHPStan 1.x. The release also removes the requirement for a return type in `BlockBase::submitConfigurationForm()`, correcting an issue introduced in 11.2. Additionally, sites using the `drupal/core-recommended` package can now update to 11.2.x without errors following the removal of the `sebastian/diff` constraint, enabling support for PHPUnit 10 and 11.

Drupal 11.2.3 is available for download in tar.gz and zip formats, and instructions for installing or updating via Composer are provided in the release documentation.
