Drupal 25th Anniversary Gala Set for 24 March in Chicago
The Drupal 25th Anniversary Gala will take place on 24 March during DrupalCon Chicago, bringing the global Drupal community together to celebrate a quarter-century of the project’s role in the open web.
Hosted by the Midwest Open Source Alliance, the evening event runs from 7:00 to 10:00 PM and marks 25 years since Drupal’s founding. Tiffany Farriss, CEO of Palantir.net and Gala Chair, is coordinating the celebration and inviting organisations to take part as sponsors in a shared community event.
The programme includes curated culinary stations, drinks, music, and themed elements such as a Drupal 25th Anniversary beer. Attendees can move through spaces designed for networking, dancing, and quieter conversations, with a dedicated low-volume area for reconnecting and sharing community stories.
Organisers describe the gala as a unified community gathering rather than a collection of private events, encouraging participation across organisations and roles. The dress code, described as “Drupal Fancy”, welcomes both formal attire and Drupal-themed apparel, reflecting the inclusive spirit of the celebration.
Ticket options include subsidised community tickets, standard admission, and pay-it-forward contributions that help broaden participation. Tickets are available through the official event page. The gala will be held at 610 S Michigan Ave in Chicago, and companies interested in sponsorship or involvement can contact Tiffany for further details.
