Fundraiser Launched to Support “Drupal in a Day” Workshop at DrupalCon Chicago
A fundraising campaign has been launched to support “Drupal in a Day,” a beginner workshop scheduled during DrupalCon Chicago. The initiative is designed to introduce new participants to Drupal through a one-day training session in which attendees build a website from scratch.
The workshop is planned as a free programme aimed at complete beginners who want to explore Drupal and open source contribution. Participants will receive hands-on instruction and guidance from experienced members of the Drupal community during the event.
According to the campaign description, the primary costs of the workshop are covered by Acquia. Organisers are now seeking additional donations to provide meals and beverages for approximately 50 student participants attending the training.
Funds raised through the campaign will be used to meet venue catering requirements, including lunch and refreshments provided during the day-long session. The organisers state that shared meals can help create a welcoming environment for participants attending their first Drupal event.
Each participant will also receive a card with information about mentors from the Drupal.org community who can offer guidance as they continue exploring Drupal and open source contribution after the workshop.
Donations and further information about the initiative are available through the official fundraiser page.
