Dries Buytaert Invites Community to Drupal’s 25th Anniversary Gala at DrupalCon Chicago

Drupal founder and project lead Dries Buytaert has published a blog post inviting community members to attend a gala celebrating Drupal’s twenty fifth anniversary during DrupalCon Chicago.

The event is scheduled for 24 March 2026 from 19:00 to 22:00 CT and will take place as a separate ticketed gathering during the conference. In the announcement, Buytaert described the evening as an opportunity for contributors from across Drupal’s history to reconnect and celebrate the project’s milestone year, noting that several early contributors who have not attended DrupalCon in years are expected to join the event.

Tickets for the gala are priced at 125 USD, with a limited number of subsidised tickets available at 25 USD through sponsor support so that cost does not become a barrier for community members. Organisations attending DrupalCon Chicago can also reserve tables for their teams and invite contributors to participate in the celebration.

The announcement also notes that Tiffany Farriss is serving as chair of the anniversary gala and is part of the organising team coordinating the event.
