Decoupled Days Montréal 2026 Sets 1 April Deadline for Session Proposals
Session proposals for Decoupled Days Montréal 2026 close on 1 April 2026 at 11:59 PDT. The conference will take place on 6–7 August 2026 in Montréal. Organisers are inviting proposals for 25- and 50-minute talks focused on modern open-source web development.
The event, now in its ninth edition, will be held at Montréal CoWork and centres on developments in web architecture, particularly headless and composable systems. The call for presentations outlines five thematic tracks that structure the programme.
These tracks include emerging technologies, content management and commerce, JavaScript ecosystems, agency and business practices, and people and community topics. Together, they reflect current areas of focus in web development, including API-driven architectures and the integration of artificial intelligence tools into development workflows.
The Emerging Technologies track includes topics such as Internet of Things, immersive interfaces, and generative AI systems. The Content Management and Commerce track focuses on headless and traditional CMS approaches, including API-based integrations and composable platforms.
The JavaScript track highlights frameworks and runtime environments commonly used in decoupled architectures. The Agency and Business track addresses implementation strategies, case studies, and operational considerations in consultancy and client work.
A separate People and Community track focuses on accessibility, inclusion, governance, and professional development within open-source ecosystems. Organisers state that at least 50% of accepted sessions will be allocated to speakers from underrepresented groups, with 10% reserved for first-time presenters.
Previous editions have featured contributors from across the web development ecosystem, including maintainers and founders associated with major open-source projects and platforms. The current call continues that approach while encouraging new speakers to participate.
Session proposals can be submitted through the official form available at the Decoupled Days Montréal 2026 submission page. Supporting materials such as slides may be shared separately via email, according to the organisers.
