Drupal Recording Initiative Seeks Support to Expand Global Coverage
The Drupal Recording Initiative is seeking community support to expand its efforts to record talks from camps, summits, and meetups beyond North America. Organised by the Midwest Open Source Alliance, the initiative focuses on making recording infrastructure accessible, affordable, and easier to deploy across community events.
In a recent update, Kevin Thull noted that the initiative has recorded and published nearly 3,500 videos since its early efforts began in 2013, including achieving full session capture at DrupalCon Chicago. The milestone reflects ongoing work to document and share Drupal knowledge across events.
The project aims to standardise a turn-key approach to recording sessions, including guidance, equipment models, and volunteer coordination. Current coverage remains concentrated in the United States and Canada, with organisers indicating that additional support would enable mentorship of new volunteers and expansion into other regions.
