DXP Scorecard Introduces Seven-Question CMS and DXP Shortlist Tool
Platform buyers can use The Decider, a free seven-question tool from DXP Scorecard, to reduce 38 actively developed digital experience platforms, headless content management systems, and traditional content management systems to a shortlist of two to four. DXP Scorecard announced the tool in a LinkedIn post as an alternative to vendor recommendations and large comparison spreadsheets. Drupal is among the traditional CMS options eligible for consideration.
The questions cover the intended use case, the team responsible for the platform, budget, geographic reach, regulatory requirements, and the importance of AI capabilities. One question changes according to whether the planned project concerns marketing, commerce, an intranet, multiple brands, publishing, or content for applications. Each answer applies weighted criteria from DXP Scorecard’s published 187-criterion framework, and the resulting recommendations link to platform scorecards and comparison pages.
The tool is intended to support early platform research rather than make a final procurement or architecture decision. DXP Scorecard describes its work as independent and unsponsored, but those claims come from the publisher, whose disclaimer says assessments may become outdated, contain errors, or remain incomplete. Its wider directory currently contains 40 scored entries, while The Decider starts with 38 active candidates and excludes platforms with announced end-of-life dates. Buyers should inspect the item-level evidence, deployment assumptions, and current product documentation behind any recommendation before selecting a platform.
