PreviousNext Explains Support for Drupal's Open Future Manifesto
Australian Drupal agency PreviousNext says signing A Manifesto for an Open Future reflects practices it already follows. In an 8 August 2026 blog post, Owen Lansbury, co-founder and company director at PreviousNext, links the decision to the agency's long-standing support for open source and Drupal contribution. The manifesto asks signatories to contribute, support one another across company boundaries, explain what open source makes possible, and continue adapting as technology and market conditions change.
PreviousNext says it invests 5% of its annual revenue in contributions to Drupal's codebase and community and treats that spending as part of its operating model. Drupal.org lists the company as a Top Tier Drupal Certified Partner, a tier requiring at least 12,000 annual weighted contribution credits. Owen connects that contribution record with the manifesto's commitments to knowledge sharing, cross-company support, and continued investment in Drupal.
The post also applies the manifesto's principles to artificial intelligence, digital sovereignty, and security. PreviousNext argues that Drupal's structured content can support AI integrations, while open code and infrastructure choices can give clients greater control over their platforms and data. The agency uses those themes to connect the manifesto's open-source principles with its approach to client work and participation in the Drupal project.
