Janna Malikova Wins 2026 Drupal Association At-Large Board Election

Software engineer Janna Malikova has won the 2026 Drupal Association Community At-Large Board election. The Drupal Association announced the result on 31 August 2026 after Janna received 141 approvals. She finished ahead of seven other candidates for the community-elected seat.

The election fills one of the Association's at-large board seats, which follow staggered two-year terms. Janna's term begins on 1 November 2026, when she will succeed Alejandro Moreno as his 2024–2026 term concludes. The election used approval voting, allowing each eligible voter to support one or more candidates.

A total of 307 voters participated from a pool of 1,274 eligible Drupal Association members. James Abrahams received 131 approvals, Matthew Saunders 128, and Bert Boerland 120. Scott Falconer and Helge Notø each received 74 approvals, Darren Oh 57, and Chris Kelly 26.

In her candidate statement published on 7 July 2026, Janna identified small site builders, small businesses, and Drupal's documentation foundations as three areas she wanted the Association to prioritise. She argued for lowering barriers for new and returning site builders and for cleaner, versioned, and more accurate documentation as large language models and AI search engines use Drupal information. Janna also described contributing to Drupal code and documentation, running code sprints, supporting DrupalSouth, and working as an accessibility tester.
