PHP Foundation Turned One This November
The PHP foundation celebrated it's first anniversary on the 22nd of November 2022. The foundation is a collective of people and organisations whose mission is to ensure the prosperity of the PHP language. The PHP foundation was initiated by JetBrains, Automattic, Laravel, Acquia, Zend by Perforce, Private Packagist, Symfony, Craft CMS, and Tideways. It was publicly launched on November 22, 2021.

Since its launch the foundation has strived to fund part/full-time developers to work on the PHP core .
They have sought to accomplish their goals and have been preparing expand its development efforts in 2023 by hiring an additional developer and increasing the number of hours that their current contracted developers are working. They plan to spend $678,000, including compensation and fees. Additional sponsor contributions will allow them to extend the developer team further.
