First Pacific Time Virtual Drupal Meetup Launches December 4, 2024
The Drupal community is set to host the first-ever Pacific Time Virtual Drupal Meetup on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM PST. This new initiative aims to create a recurring online space for Drupal enthusiasts to connect, share knowledge, and collaborate.
While tailored for individuals in the Pacific time zone, the event welcomes participants from all time zones, reflecting the inclusive spirit of the global Drupal community. Organized by Chad Hester, Dale McGladdery, Andrii Kocherhin, Mark Labrecque and Pavlos Daniel, this meetup marks the beginning of an exciting series designed to foster engagement and growth.
The inaugural event will feature a two-hour program blending structured discussions and informal networking opportunities. The session begins with a brief introduction, offering newcomers a chance to learn about Drupal and feel comfortable in the community. Following this, the spotlight shifts to a one-hour group discussion on the IXP initiative, a community-driven effort to attract new contributors and expand Drupal’s reach. This conversation aims to generate ideas and strategies for engaging fresh talent, reinforcing Drupal’s commitment to innovation and inclusivity.
The meetup will conclude with networking and Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions, where participants can connect in smaller groups to discuss topics of mutual interest or simply socialize. These informal interactions provide a valuable opportunity for attendees to build relationships, exchange ideas, and strengthen their ties within the community. Whether participants are seasoned Drupal developers or newcomers, the meetup ensures that everyone leaves with valuable connections and insights.
This December event is the first of many, with the next session already scheduled for January 8, 2025. The Pacific Time Virtual Drupal Meetup promises to become a cornerstone for regular community interaction, offering a space for learning, collaboration, and innovation.
