Innoraft's Experience at DrupalCon Singapore 2024: A Recap

Introduction

DrupalCon Singapore 2024 marked a thrilling milestone for the Drupal Community in Asia as the first Asian Gathering of Drupalites since 2016. The conference featured dynamic sessions highlighting the latest innovations in the Drupal Ecosystem, unparalleled networking opportunities, hands-on training, collaborative contributions, and so much more.

The Innoraft Team was honored to participate in this vibrant event, and the experience has immensely enriched our Drupal journey. Over the course of three full days dedicated to learning, collaboration, and celebrating achievements within the Drupal community, we witnessed the fantastic unification of the Drupal Asian Community. The insights we gathered and the connections we made in this event have ignited our drive to advance and embrace new levels of innovation.

1. Drupal CMS Launch

The highlight of DrupalCon Singapore 2024 was the launch of the RC version of Drupal CMS. This latest iteration promises to enhance agility and user-friendliness like never before, creating incredible new opportunities for developers, designers, and businesses alike. The official release is scheduled for January 15, 2025, a day to be celebrated by the global Drupal community. To mark the launch and share information about various celebrations, Dries Buytaert directed everyone to https://celebratedrupal.org/, which will serve as a central hub for planning and promoting these events. As part of the Global Drupal Community, we are also geared to celebrate this official launch with Drupal CMS Launch Week.

2. The 41st Driesnote

The 41st Driesnote was a highlight of the event. Dries Buytaert's compelling keynote captivated attendees with insights into the evolution of Drupal Core and the Drupal CMS. This presentation highlighted the platform's strategic direction and showcased its commitment to innovation, reinforcing Drupal's vital role in the ever-evolving tech landscape.

Dries shared exhilarating updates on the Drupal CMS, pinpointing the current landscape and the key areas ripe for innovation. He emphasized four foundational pillars steering the development forward: Recipes, Experience Builder, Drupal.org, Marketing, and Documentation. One of the most exciting announcements was the introduction of new tracks within Drupal Recipes, designed to enhance user experience and simplify the building process with Drupal. These tracks aim to empower users by making Drupal more accessible and flexible, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of modern content management. The Driesnote truly encapsulated the forward-thinking spirit that defines Drupal today.
