DevBranch Enhances Ticketgum with Drupal 9 Migration
Drupal development agency DevBranch successfully revamped Ticketgum, a major secondary marketplace for sports and music event tickets, by migrating its platform to Drupal 9. The project, detailed in a case study on Drupal.org, involved consolidating multiple legacy systems, including Drupal 7, WordPress, and custom PHP, into a single, efficient architecture.
The upgrade addressed key challenges, such as integrating ticket sales, seat selection, multi-tier event categorization, and affiliate management. The platform now supports over 190,000 users, 20,000+ events, and 600,000+ orders. Its reservation system ensures real-time ticket availability while preventing double bookings.
DevBranch implemented advanced features like Drupal Commerce, a customized checkout flow, SVG stadium maps, and API integrations with Klaviyo, Twilio, and TiXstock. The migration process required custom-built solutions due to the absence of a direct upgrade path.
With Cloudflare security, a back-office system for sales and marketing, and SEO enhancements, Ticketgum is now optimized for performance and scalability. Plans are in place for future upgrades to Drupal 10 and 11. Follow this link to read the full case study.
