Drupal CMS Launches with AI Tools, Extending Core Capabilities
Digital Beings’ LinkedIn blog post explores the evolution of Drupal from its origins as a message board in 2000 to the release of the AI-integrated Drupal CMS on January 15, 2025. Created by Dries Buytaert, Drupal has become a widely used open-source content management system, with Drupal 11 marking its latest core version.
The new Drupal CMS builds on Drupal Core but is tailored for marketers and content creators. It introduces low-code functionality, chatbot-assisted content creation, pre-built templates, and AI tools for content generation, optimization, and automation. Unlike the developer-focused Drupal Core, Drupal CMS simplifies website building while maintaining flexibility. However, it is not intended for highly complex or large-scale projects, which remain best handled by Drupal Core.
The blog distinguishes between the two offerings, emphasizing that both will continue evolving to serve different user needs.
