MidCamp 2025 Calls for Volunteers Ahead of May 20–22 Event in Chicago

MidCamp, the Midwest Drupal Camp, will return to DePaul University’s Lincoln Park Student Centre from May 20–22, 2025, and organisers are calling for volunteers to help support the event. MidCamp provides a platform for learning, collaboration, and networking within the Drupal community, and offers non-code contributors a chance to get involved in meaningful ways.

Volunteers are needed to assist with various tasks, including event setup and teardown, registration and ticketing, and session monitoring. Setup duties will involve preparing registration areas, organising spaces for sessions, and ensuring walkways are accessible. During teardown, volunteers will help pack equipment and materials to return the venue to its original condition.

Additional roles include greeting attendees, scanning tickets, distributing programs, helping speakers manage session logistics, and providing light assistance with in-room audiovisual needs. Volunteers are also welcome to propose their ways to assist. All confirmed volunteers will receive contribution credit on Drupal.org, provided they share their profile name when signing up.

Those interested can sign up through MidCamp’s volunteer form and are encouraged to join the #volunteers channel on the MidCamp Slack for updates. An online orientation will be held ahead of the event to familiarise volunteers with their roles and responsibilities.

Organisers note that volunteers are still required to purchase a ticket to attend, but flexible ticket options are available. Volunteers will also have first pick from the MidCamp Archives, which include a collection of vintage swag from past events.
