MidCamp Confirms Return to Chicago for 27–29 April 2027
Dates for MidCamp 2027 have been officially confirmed, with the community-driven Drupal and open source event scheduled to return to Chicago from 27 to 29 April 2027.
Organisers announced that the event will once again be hosted at DePaul University, continuing MidCamp’s long-running association with the Chicago venue. The dates were first referenced in the closing remarks at MidCamp 2026 before being formally confirmed in a follow-up announcement published by organiser Norah Schrum.
MidCamp is one of the major Drupal community gatherings in the United States' Midwest region, bringing together developers, designers, strategists, marketers, project managers, content creators, and open-source contributors for collaborative learning, networking, and contribution activities.
According to organisers, MidCamp 2027 will continue the event’s established format, featuring community-led sessions, practical workshops, contribution opportunities, social events, and informal discussions centred on Drupal, open-source technology, and digital collaboration.
Planning work for the 2027 edition is already underway. Future participation opportunities are expected to include volunteering, sponsorship support, speaker session submissions, and broader community involvement as programme development progresses.
The announcement also emphasised MidCamp’s focus on accessibility and community participation, describing the event as welcoming to both long-time attendees and people planning their first MidCamp experience.
Additional updates about MidCamp 2027, including programme announcements and participation opportunities, will be published through the official event page. Organisers also encouraged community members to revisit recordings from MidCamp 2026 while preparations for the next edition continue.
