Drupal Community Elections 2025 Adjust Board Ratification Timeline
The Drupal Association has announced a change to the timeline for the 2025 Drupal Community-at-Large Elections, to the elected post that comes vacant every alternate year, adjusting the board ratification period to July 21–25, earlier than initially planned. Originally expected in the fall, the updated schedule reflects a strategic shift aimed at better aligning with the board’s meeting calendar and providing the incoming board member with more time to onboard and begin contributing effectively.
The early ratification is intended to ensure a smoother transition and allow the new member to engage meaningfully from the outset of their term. While the rest of the election schedule remains unchanged for now, organisers have confirmed that more detailed guidance on participation, eligibility, and timelines will be shared in the coming weeks.
The annual community elections are a core part of how the Drupal Association ensures that its leadership reflects the voices and priorities of its global open-source community. Two positions on the board of directors are open for members directly elected from the community. They have a two-year tenure to serve on the board. Each year, one member retires from the board, so a board position opens up, for which elections are conducted. Any member who pays the membership fee to the Association prior to the announcement is eligible to vote.
Updates and further instructions will be made available on Drupal.org as the process moves forward.
