What Noah’s Page Builder Just Quietly Solved in Drupal—And Why It Matters

When Drupal developer Julián Chabrillón, a seasoned full-stack developer at ES IMAGINACIÓN set out to build a page‑creation tool, he described his aim in simple terms:

“to offer a page‑building tool that works well out of the box, is easy to use, and is available to everyone in the Drupal community.”

Julián prioritised openness, transparency, and accessibility values reflected in the fully open‑source release of Noah’s Page Builder from day one.

Many content‑management ecosystems have leaned on freemium models, paywalls, or limited-use versions. Noah takes a different path. The module available on Drupal.org is fully functional, with no locked features, allowing users to deploy and maintain it without subscription barriers or withheld functionality.

An optional Pro version is available at a fair price to help sustain ongoing development, but the free version remains complete and supported, and continues to be used in production environments.

We spoke with Julián to gain a deeper understanding of the newly rolled-out update and its benefits for Drupal users. We also thank Sofía García de Blas for providing us with the relevant details and informing us about the latest improvements to the module. This follows earlier reporting at The Drop Times: Noah’s Page Builder Rolls Out Major Update with AI, Templates, and UI Overhaul for Drupal

Interface Overhaul and Workflow Enhancements

The latest update introduces a visual redesign of the creation interface, along with functional improvements designed to make page building more fluid for content teams.

According to Julián, the editor is now “visually more pleasing, with a sleeker, clearer design.” The most significant change is a floating control window that allows users to work with layout objects more precisely. Content creators can now manage elements in fixed or absolute positions and set layer hierarchies using z-index controls features that are essential when working on complex pages with overlapping components.

Undo/redo support and resizable editing windows have also been added, offering more control over the editing process. These additions reduce the risk of accidental changes and provide flexibility during layout adjustments, especially when previewing designs across different screen sizes.

AI Integration for Text and Translation

The update also brings artificial intelligence directly into the page-building process. Users can now generate content via prompts or chat and insert it into their layouts.

“Currently, with AI, you have the ability to: generate text through a prompt; generate the desired text through a chat, and when it’s ready, add it to your design,”

Julián explained. Translation capabilities follow a similar logic.

“With just two clicks, you can translate your entire design into different languages and shades,”

he said. This enables faster multilingual publishing, especially for teams working across regions.

Looking ahead, Noah’s Page Builder will continue to expand its AI features. Planned additions include AI-generated layout structures, automatic metatag configuration, and, in the longer term, the ability to generate entire sites through AI-driven workflows.

Design Systems and Reusable Elements

To support brand consistency across projects, the latest release introduces features such as global styles, reusable widgets, and widget-specific default style settings. These tools are particularly useful for organisations that require strict adherence to visual identity standards.

However, Julián acknowledged that multisite coordination remains outside the current scope.

“Right now, Noah’s Page Builder is not prepared to manage multisites from one place, so they would need to create settings for each site.”

While the new tools strengthen single-site design control, cross-site configuration would require additional layers of configuration, which may be addressed in future versions depending on user demand and available development time.

Integration Across Drupal Entities

One of the broader goals for Noah’s is to make its editing environment available across all major Drupal entities, not just content types and taxonomies.

“I’m working on integrating Noah’s into all available entities on a Drupal site so I can use it anywhere,”

Julián said. This expansion will allow users to build and edit layouts on blocks, forms, and views using the same interface they already use for content.

That work is already underway.

“This enhancement is expected to be available over the summer months (July/August),”

he noted.

Newsletter Editing and Simplenews Support

A new capability being explored is the creation of email layouts using Noah’s interface. The plan is to integrate with Drupal’s Simplenews module, adapting the current builder to generate table-based structures required for email clients.

“For newsletters, the editor would be exactly the same, but instead of using DIVs as a base, we would use tables,” Julián said. “I hope to start with this part as soon as possible :)”

He added that he's open to alternatives if the community has suggestions, but Simplenews remains the most likely candidate for integration due to its adoption within the Drupal ecosystem.

The latest update to Noah’s Page Builder reflects a focused effort to address practical challenges in Drupal site building. With added support for AI-generated content, translation, and interface enhancements, the module provides tools designed to streamline day-to-day workflows without introducing unnecessary complexity.

Julián Chabrillón continues to maintain Noah’s with a commitment to openness, function, and clarity. The project remains free to use, with an optional Pro version that enhances its capabilities for those who require additional functionality.
