Ivan Zugec Builds Node Tool to Auto-Clip Drupal Live Streams Using Remotion and FFmpeg
A new local Node.js tool is helping automate the post-production workflow for Drupal live streams by cutting long videos into smaller clips based on chapter markers and exporting them in multiple formats for different platforms.
Ivan Zugec, a Drupal developer and consultant, shared details of the tool in a LinkedIn post. Ivan explains that the app uses Remotion and FFmpeg to generate outputs in both 16:9 and 9:16 aspect ratios from a CSV file of chapter markers.
The vertical 9:16 exports are further segmented into clips under three minutes so YouTube classifies them as Shorts instead of standard videos. The workflow turns chapter markers into a repeatable clipping pipeline, reducing the manual editing effort required to repurpose long-form technical streams into shorter, shareable content.
Ivan notes that caption support is still in progress and describes it as the main unfinished part of the workflow. Early responses from the community indicate interest in whether the tool may be shared more widely once development stabilises.
More context is available in Ivan’s LinkedIn post.
