HTMX and Drupal 11 to Headline #! code March Meetup with Phil Norton
A new online meetup series called #! code will begin with its first session on 11 March 2026 from 00:30 to 02:30 IST. The event will bring together web developers for a discussion-focused session hosted online via Zoom.
The inaugural meetup will feature Phil Norton, a Drupal developer and technical writer known for his work in the Drupal community. The session will introduce HTMX, a lightweight library that allows developers to create dynamic interfaces using server-rendered HTML rather than relying on large client-side JavaScript frameworks.
The presentation will cover the fundamentals of HTMX and demonstrate how it can be integrated with PHP-based applications. The session will also explore how HTMX can be used within Drupal 11 environments, including practical examples involving Drupal forms and controllers.
The talk builds on a presentation Norton delivered at DrupalCamp England on 28 February 2026 titled “Using HTMX To Make Interactive Elements In Drupal,” where he discussed approaches for creating interactive features without writing custom JavaScript.
Organisers describe the #! code meetup as a recurring community event designed to host discussions around web development tools, frameworks, and programming practices. Future sessions are expected to cover topics across frontend, backend, and full-stack development.
Registration for the March session is available through the official event page.
