San Francisco Drupal User Group to Host Talk on New Drupal Revenue Streams
Drupal professionals looking beyond large enterprise projects will be the focus of an online San Francisco Drupal User Group session scheduled for 22 May 2026.
The session, titled “New Revenue Streams with Drupal: SMB, SaaS, Marketplace, Drupito, & more,” will run from 06:30 to 07:30 IST on Zoom. The event is hosted by Eric Davila and will feature Ashraf Abed as the speaker.
The talk will examine how Drupal builders, designers, sales professionals, and agencies can create revenue opportunities outside traditional large-scale implementation work. The session frames the topic around a broader question for the Drupal ecosystem: where can Drupal professionals turn when enterprise demand slows?
Abed will discuss opportunities in the small and medium-sized business market, noting that small businesses account for 99.9% of all businesses in the United States. The session will explore how Drupal’s evolving tooling may make smaller projects more practical and profitable for service providers.
The programme will also cover approaches to “selling sites, not hours,” including site templates, Drupal-based SaaS products, and emerging ecosystem resources. Topics listed for the event include Drupito, the Drupal Association’s marketplace, SaaS product development with Drupal, and collaborative business models that prioritise shared opportunity over direct competition.
The event connects Drupal’s long-running community message, “Come for the software, stay for the community,” with the role of sustainable professional opportunities. Organisers describe opportunity quality and availability as important factors in whether people enter and remain active in the Drupal ecosystem.
More information and registration details are available on the event website.
