Drupal Austria Association Named 2026 Non-Profit Organisation Awards Winner
Austria’s Drupal community has received external recognition after Acquisition International listed Drupal Austria Association as the 2026 winner for “Leading Open Source & Open Web Community Organisation 2026 - Austria” in its Non-Profit Organisation Awards.
For the Drupal ecosystem, the listing records the role of a local community body that connects people and organisations working with the Drupal CMS in Austria. The award profile describes Drupal Austria as a non-profit open source community that organises events, supports knowledge-sharing, and works to strengthen the local open web ecosystem. The recognition places the association’s community work within a wider awards programme for non-profit organisations.
Drupal Austria’s own website gives further context. It says the association grew out of the organisation of Drupalcamp Vienna 2009 and aims to strengthen and support the Austrian Drupal community. The site also states that membership and corporate sponsorship income supports Drupal events and similar non-commercial projects.
Public event listings show continuing community activity. Drupal Austria’s Meetup page says the Vienna meetups have been held regularly since 2008 and lists 115 past events, including Drupal Spotlight on 12 May 2026 at 17:00 CEST and Drupal-Austria Meetup March 2026 on 11 March 2026 at 18:00 CET. The Drupal Austria website’s events page also points visitors to the Meetup group for more listings.
The award profile lists corporate sponsors as ACOLONO GmbH, doloops accessible web technologies GmbH, drunomics GmbH, EOR Digital GmbH, lowfidelity GmbH, Protobyte GmbH, W1 OMNICHANNEL MARKETING GMBH, and webshapers GmbH. The association’s own site also maintains a project showroom for Drupal websites in Austria, with examples such as Tierschutzhaus Sonnenhof, Volkswagen AG InfoPortal, and VALUITA. The full winner profile is available on the Acquisition International website.
