Mike Herchel Previews DrupalCon Orlando Venue and Talent Show Plans

Attendees at DrupalCon Orlando 2027 will have sessions and other conference activities based at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort from 22 to 25 March 2027. Drupal contributor and Florida DrupalCamp organiser Mike Herchel shared a first-hand venue preview after touring the resort with members of the local planning committee. Herchel originally published the account on 3 August 2026, and the Drupal Association cross-posted it on 19 August.

The resort setting differs from the downtown convention-centre format used for many previous DrupalCons. Mike notes that leaving the property will likely require a ride, while the conference rooms themselves are closely grouped. The official DrupalCon Orlando site says all conference activities will take place at the hotel, concentrating the scheduled event in one location.

Mike also reports that the Drupal Association secured a group hotel rate of $259 per night with no resort fee. The property includes pools, restaurants, outdoor areas, and other shared spaces that he expects attendees may use after scheduled sessions. That expectation reflects Mike's assessment of the resort rather than a confirmed social programme.

The preview also outlines plans for Drupal's Got Talent, a community talent show that Mike says he has tried to bring to previous DrupalCons. Potential performances include music, comedy, magic, singing, dancing, juggling, puppet shows, and other acts, although participant registration has not yet opened.
