Druxt Adds MCP Server for AI Access to Documentation
Coding assistants can now search Druxt documentation through a read-only Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Stuart Clark, creator of the fully decoupled Drupal framework for Nuxt, shared the update, which allows compatible AI tools to retrieve project guides and API references during development.
The integration gives coding assistants access to current Druxt documentation rather than relying solely on information retained during model training. Developers can use it to consult guidance on configuring Drupal backend proxies, upgrading Druxt versions and setting up applications with Drupal 11.
According to the official documentation, the server provides three tools: search_docs finds documentation pages, get_doc retrieves individual pages in Markdown, and list_docs lists available pages.
The service requires no account and supports MCP clients including Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and OpenCode. It uses the endpoint https://druxtjs.org/mcp and cannot access Drupal installations or modify website content.
The addition does not change Druxt's underlying framework dependencies. As previously reported by The DropTimes, Druxt remains on Nuxt 2, which has reached upstream end of life. Support for Nuxt 4 is planned for Druxt 2.0.x.
