Introduction to Backdrop CMS at Drupal Camp Asheville
Backdrop CMS is Drupal 7, but it includes many of the features you'll find in Drupal 8+. It's been optimized for performance and improved for usability. Backdrop is targeted towards companies and organizations that are delivering comprehensive websites on a budget.
If you or your organization are still using Drupal 7, Backdrop should be in the mix as an option, especially if the Drupal 7 site works for you. In this training session by Justin Keiser, Drupal Web Programmer for the Academy of Model Aeronautics on 8th July you will learn more about Backdrop CMS and also discuss the upgrade process and tips for module porting.
The session will cover topics like logging in, creating content, creating content types, content display, modules, views, layouts, configuration management and more.

Image Attribution Disclaimer: At The Drop Times (TDT), we are committed to properly crediting photographers whose images appear in our content. Many of the images we use come from event organizers, interviewees, or publicly shared galleries under CC BY-SA licenses. However, some images may come from personal collections where metadata is lost, making proper attribution challenging.
Our purpose in using these images is to highlight Drupal, its events, and its contributors—not for commercial gain. If you recognize an image on our platform that is uncredited or incorrectly attributed, we encourage you to reach out to us at #thedroptimes channel on Drupal Slack.
We value the work of visual storytellers and appreciate your help in ensuring fair attribution. Thank you for supporting open-source collaboration!
