Carlos Ospina Seeks Re-election to Drupal Association Board to Advance Global Inclusion Initiatives
Carlos Ospina has declared his intention to run again for the Drupal Association Board, citing the unfinished work on initiatives aimed at enhancing global representation and sustainable talent development. He highlights the progress made since his 2023 nomination, particularly in addressing challenges faced by underrepresented regions and smaller agencies.
Carlos underscores the importance of the International Federation initiative, which seeks to formalise global community participation in Drupal governance. He also points to the IXP Fellowship program, co-created to bridge the experience gap for new developers by providing structured mentorship and contribution opportunities. Additionally, he supports the Marketplace initiative, aimed at facilitating quick site deployments and enabling new business models within the Drupal ecosystem.
Drawing from his experience in both Latin America and the United States, Carlos advocates for economic considerations in Drupal's global strategies. He emphasises the need for scalable solutions that accommodate regional economic disparities, such as adapting partnership fees and creating accessible pathways for contribution and certification. His candidacy focuses on ensuring that ongoing initiatives effectively serve diverse communities and contribute to a balanced, sustainable Drupal ecosystem.
