The Linux Foundation Europe Roadshow Heads to Ghent Tomorrow

The Linux Foundation Europe Roadshow comes to Ghent on 29 October bringing together developers, community leaders, industry, and policymakers for a full day of exchange on open-source regulation and innovation.

The event features two parallel tracks: one led by the Open Source Security Foundation focuses on cybersecurity, including sessions unpacking the Cyber Resilience Act for open-source contributors and exploring how licensing interacts with compliance. This track includes the CRA Working Session for Manufacturers and Stewards, a follow-up to the 2024 Amsterdam workshop that contributed to the Linux Foundation’s report “Unaware and Uncertain.”

The second track highlights open-source project showcases from across Europe and beyond, presenting practical examples of collaboration and innovation. It also features discussions on open source in artificial intelligence, funding models for digital commons, and the evolving discourse around digital sovereignty and global cooperation.

Rather than framing regulation as a barrier, the Roadshow positions open-source communities as active participants in shaping their operating environments strengthening security, promoting innovation, and supporting open collaboration throughout Europe. This Ghent event is part of a three-day series that includes the Linux Foundation Europe Member Summit on 28 October and the European Open Source Security Forum on 30 October in Brussels. The Roadshow runs from 09:00 to 18:00 CET and includes keynotes, breakout sessions, and a sponsor showcase.

Organisations and individuals interested in attending can register via the event page. For full programme details and updates, see the Roadshow listing on the Linux Foundation Europe website.
