Drupal Association Announces 2026 At-Large Board Election Schedule
Community nominations for the Drupal Association’s 2026 At-Large Board election will open on 16 June 2026, beginning this year’s process to select a new community representative for the organisation’s board.
The Drupal Association said nominations will remain open until 30 June at 23:59 UTC. Candidate announcements are scheduled for 7 July, followed by two weeks dedicated to community engagement and candidate introductions before voting begins later in the month.
Voting for the At-Large Board seat will open on 22 July at 00:00 UTC and close on 14 August at 23:59 UTC. The association plans to announce the newly elected board member on 26 August 2026.
The election is part of the Drupal Association’s staggered two-year board term structure, under which one At-Large seat becomes available each year. The organisation also acknowledged outgoing board member Alejandro Moreno for serving on the board between 2024 and 2026.
According to the published timeline, community forums introducing candidates are planned for 15 July. A separate “Get to Know the Candidates” period will run from 7 July through 21 July to allow community members to review candidate platforms and backgrounds before voting opens.
The Drupal Association also reminded community members that an active Drupal Association membership is required to participate in voting. Eligibility requires memberships to be active at least 24 hours before voting opens, specifically before 00:00 UTC on 21 July.
Members who believe they are eligible but do not receive a ballot have been advised to contact the association through its elections support email channel.
The At-Large Board seat is one of the community-elected positions within the Drupal Association’s governance structure. Board members help guide strategic decisions related to Drupal.org infrastructure, community programmes, events, fundraising, and ecosystem sustainability.
More information about the 2026 election process and participation details is available through the Drupal Association elections page.
