Imparting training is one of the aspects of any Drupal Camp. Florida Drupal Camp also begins with a mix of full and half-day training sessions. These sessions are of different difficulty levels. Register for them separately if you are keen to attend any training session, as seats are minimal because of space constraints. The camp also has other sessions, so leave the training for the needy.

We have listed below the training sessions of Drupal Camp Florida 2023.

  • Getting Started With Drupal (half-day morning)

It’s a three-hour workshop to learn the fundamental building blocks of Drupal. This three-hour workshop will give you an in-depth knowledge of what Drupal is, why Drupal 9 matters, to create basic content, users, and an overview of more complex Drupal features. This training needs no prior experience with Drupal or web development. The speakers are Amy June Hineline, a Senior Community Manager at opensource.com and Tearyne Almendariz Developer Advocate at Pantheon.

  • Do more with DDEV (half-day afternoon)

In this workshop, Michael Anello will cover DDEV providers (integration with modern Drupal hosting), writing command hooks and custom commands, and utilizing custom Docker containers. This training includes an audience who are familiar with DDEV.

  • Intermediate to Advanced Drupal Front-end Development (half-day afternoon)

In this training, Andy Blum will help you to explore some of the powers Drupal front-end developers wield and work with real-life examples of how they’re used. In this session, You will learn about Advanced theme setup and configuration, Utilizing PHP and Drupal core to enhance your theme, JavaScript and Drupal Behaviors, Advanced twig concepts and Debugging and troubleshooting.

  • Intermediate OOP in Drupal: Patterns, Services, Events and Dependency Injection

This training will best serve developers who have some understanding of OOP and want to learn more about the theory behind best practices seen in Drupal 8+ and Symfony. The approach of this training is a series of discussions paired with practical examples of how the topics apply to Drupal 8 module development. Jonathan Daggarhart will discuss and demystify some of the most useful OOP concepts, patterns, and jargon as they apply to modern Drupal development.

  • DevOps with Lando (half-day morning)

Join Aaron Feledy for his DevOps with Lando training session to learn how to utilize Lando as more than just a local development tool. To get the most out of this training session, attendees should have a basic understanding of Lando or similar container-based local development tools and experience working with command-line interfaces and Git.

  • Progressive Decoupled Blocks with Vuejs and Drupal 9 (all day)

Israel Morales will explain how to use Drupal’s PDB-contributed module and create a custom block that uses Vuejs and Vite. Instead of dealing with vanilla JavaScript or jQuery, use a more robust framework like Vuejs on the Front-End that takes care of these edge cases. Further requirements are mentioned here.

The Florida DrupalCamp is scheduled from Friday, February 17, 2023, 9:00 AM to Sunday, February 19, 2023, 5:00 PM EST in Florida Technical College 12900, Challenger Parkway, Orlando, FL 32826, United States.
