Not so early, TheDropTimes stumbled upon a 2007 Drupal Groups forum discussion on the then-favorite modules through a LinkedIn post by Enrique Worwa. That discovery instilled a curiosity in us that brewed into a magnificent idea for a weekly feature that deals with modules. Not any modules, though, the modules that not only survived the test of time but thrived.

In the world of web development, where technology's only constant is change, it often relegates once-potent tools to obscurity, but not these Drupal modules. We present a list of Drupal modules that have stood the ground for years. The modules born before or during the Drupal 6 era have achieved over 100K site downloads and continue excelling in Drupal 10.

We select the modules from https://www.drupal.org/project/project_module that cleared the following criteria:

  1. First released for Drupal 6 or versions below that.
  2. Used in more than 100K sites.
  3. Actively maintained.
  4. Functional in Drupal 10.
