Amazee Labs, in collaboration with LUKS Group, recently completed a significant digital transformation project to enhance the online presence of Lucerne Cantonal Hospital and Nidwalden Hospital. The initiative, documented by Amazee Labs' team members Pmelab, Alex Tkachev, and Isabel Racine was spearheaded by Project Manager Zsófia Gugán and executed by Developer Mattia Simonato, with design contributions from Chris Hohn.

The primary goal of this project was to modernise the frontend design of both hospital websites to serve better their diverse user base, including patients, their families, healthcare practitioners, and job seekers. Through careful analysis of usage data and a meticulous redesign, the team successfully reduced required clicks by 65%, leading to a 24% decrease in average visit duration. This improved user experience and resulted in substantial time savings for the website's visitors.

A multi-site setup was established using the Domain module to streamline content management and ensure uniformity across both sites. This innovative approach allowed seamless content sharing, enhanced editorial workflows, and reduced maintenance complexity. Additionally, implementing a decoupled Drupal architecture with GraphQL integration and the strategic use of the Webform module addressed the project's technical requirements, resulting in faster page load times, greater reliability, and improved accessibility.

In conclusion, this collaborative effort between Amazee Labs and LUKS Group has successfully modernised and optimised the digital presence of Lucerne Cantonal Hospital and Nidwalden Hospital, benefiting a wide range of users and contributing to significant time savings. The use of Drupal, a multi-site setup, decoupled architecture with GraphQL, and clever integration of web forms has transformed these websites into efficient, user-friendly, and technically robust platforms for healthcare communication.
