QED42 Elevates UNICEF's Knowledge Management with Drupal
QED42 has unveiled details about its groundbreaking project: "Building Drupal-powered knowledge management platform for UNICEF."
UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund, entrusted QED42 with the task of designing and developing a robust Drupal-powered knowledge management platform. Operating in over 190 countries, UNICEF sought to share its vast knowledge library with external partners, including donors, stakeholders, and the general public.
QED42's strategy involved creating two distinct Drupal websites to meet UNICEF's diverse user requirements. "Clearing House," the first site, is an intermediary layer connecting UNICEF's internal SharePoint Libraries with a secure Drupal platform. The second, "Knowledge at UNICEF," is a publicly accessible, multilingual content search and publishing platform.
The project faced the dual challenge of ensuring seamless integration with UNICEF's SharePoint Library and maintaining robust security for the public-facing website. QED42 addressed this by developing Clearing House to store documents and media through API integration from UNICEF's SharePoint system. "Knowledge at UNICEF" then utilized content from Clearing House, providing a secure and user-friendly public site.
During the research phase, QED42 recognized the need to streamline and standardize UNICEF's online platforms. The strategic approach involved developing code and configurations tailored for Clearing House and "Knowledge at UNICEF," with flexibility for application across other websites. This ensured a cohesive user experience throughout UNICEF's digital landscape.
