The Swiss Pharmacists Association, pharmaSuisse, has recently launched its redesigned web presence, bidding farewell to a custom-made content management system (CMS), embracing the versatility of the Open-Source CMS, Drupal. The association's strategic move toward an open-source solution underscores its commitment to modernizing its digital platform to serve its members better and streamline internal processes. By adopting Drupal, pharmaSuisse aims to adhere to established standards and enhance accessibility for its partners and members.

The new website, developed in collaboration with the digital agency Liip, represents a significant step toward digitization for pharmaSuisse, writes Josef Kruckenberg. The platform, built on Drupal, GraphQL, and Nuxt, offers a modular structure that enables swift responsiveness to evolving needs.

The technical implementation includes three frontends operating on a central design system, providing a seamless user experience across different domains. The platform's functionalities extend beyond classic CMS features to synchronize with the Navision ERP system, implement various e-commerce business cases, and facilitate dynamic member management.

PharmaSuisse's adoption of Drupal also showcases the benefits of the platform's integration capabilities, such as synchronizing members with the ERP system, providing a GraphQL interface for data queries, and supporting e-commerce functionalities through Drupal Commerce. The association's focus on digital transformation, streamlined processes, and improved collaboration with members highlights the practical advantages of utilizing Drupal in the healthcare sector.
