Carlos Ospina on Progress of Drupal’s IXP Initiative
Carlos Ospina shared an update on the progress of the IXP Initiative, an effort to support company-IXP engagements within the Drupal community. Despite the Drupal Association's primary focus on the Drupal Starshot initiative, a path has been found to advance the IXP Initiative, bringing the concept closer to reality. IXP-Fellowship is an initiative to mentor and train inexperienced developers in Drupal, helping them hop the learning curve so that there won't be a shortage of fresh talent.
As part of the initiative, Carlos replaced the proposed Google Forms tracking system with a proof-of-concept site. Utilizing the ECA and Group modules for the first time, he developed a working solution within two days to handle the entire engagement process. The initiative aims to help companies hire and mentor new Drupal talent while receiving recognition for their contributions.
Carlos reflected on the experience, highlighting the learning curve and power of ECA for automation, humorously considering how to showcase the quick implementation of complex modules on a resume.
"How do I put "learned and implemented complex modules to build a POC in 2 days" on a resume?"
The update reflects steady progress toward the initiative’s goals and underscores the versatility of Drupal tools in solving practical challenges. Read the full post here.
