D7Security Newsletter Highlights Growing Community and Ongoing Drupal 7 Support

Drupal Security

The latest D7Security Newsletter reveals the group’s continued commitment to Drupal 7 security and support, despite the absence of official core maintainers.

The community welcomes two new contributors, Henri Médot and MustangGB, who join efforts in maintaining 135 Drupal 7 modules. MustangGB leads with 93 supported modules, while Médot and Vijay Mani manage 19 and 14, respectively.

D7Security remains focused on applying essential security updates instead of forking multiple repositories. However, the group notes that commercial extended support providers will not be open-sourcing their fixes. A recent security update by Tag1 for the Coffee module credited D7Security’s collaboration.

To strengthen support, the team is seeking community volunteers to help maintain both core and contributed projects. Users are encouraged to install d7security_client 7.x-1.3 and contribute to an RSS feed for Drupal Planet updates.
