London Drupal Meetup: Large-Scale Drupal and DrupalCon Highlights

The London Drupal User Group will host its April 2025 meetup on Thursday, April 24, at The Children’s Society, 50 Banner Street. The session will focus on real-world, enterprise-level Drupal implementations and a summary of key takeaways from DrupalCon Atlanta. The event runs from 6:30 PM to 7:45 PM BST, with doors opening at 6:00 PM.

Titled “Drupal in the Wild,” the first presentation of the evening will be delivered by Vijay Chandran Mani, a senior developer and solutions architect at Pfizer, Acro Commerce, & Solathat, with nearly two decades of experience in building global software systems. He will present a case study on the development of a large-scale, headless Drupal platform built for a major North American telecom provider.

Vijay’s session will explore architecture decisions, multilingual content delivery, external integrations, and lessons learned while managing performance and scalability in a high-traffic environment. The case study is based on practical challenges faced during the delivery of a fully decoupled, enterprise-grade platform.

Following a short break, Rajeev Kumar—Technology Lead & Drupal Developer at Shabd Digital, and co-lead of Drupal London and DrupalCamp England—will present “DrupalCon Atlanta in 15 Minutes.” Rajeev attended this year’s DrupalCon and will recap major announcements and themes, including updates on the Drupal CMS, Experience Builder, the emerging Drupal Marketplace, and key highlights from Dries Buytaert’s keynote address.

Both sessions will include Q&A segments, offering attendees the chance to engage with the speakers and discuss the technical and strategic aspects of their work. The evening will conclude informally at a nearby pub.

The event is open to Drupal professionals, developers, and anyone interested in the current direction of Drupal as an enterprise platform. Attendance is free, but registration is encouraged.
