Ivan Zugec Showcases New Drupal CMS Launcher App for Mac in Step-by-Step Video Guide
Ivan Zugec has published a new video tutorial introducing the 'Drupal CMS Launcher', a desktop application designed to make running Drupal CMS locally easier than ever—particularly for Mac users.
In the tutorial, Zugec walks through the streamlined three-step process: users begin by downloading the `.dmg` file and dragging the launcher into their Applications folder. Once launched, the app initiates a one-time setup process to install everything needed to run Drupal CMS locally. After installation, users simply click the "Visit Site" button to open their local Drupal instance in a browser.
The launcher creates a "drupal" directory in the user's Documents folder to store site files and save progress between sessions. Users can reset the site at any time by quitting the app, deleting the folder, and relaunching the application.
This launcher aims to lower the barrier to entry for newcomers and aligns with the broader mission of Drupal CMS to offer no-code and low-code solutions for content creators and site builders. It eliminates the need for command-line tools or separate services like MAMP or DDEV, making Drupal CMS more accessible to non-technical users.
The Drupal CMS Launcher is currently available only for macOS, but its simplicity and user-friendly design have already drawn attention as a significant step toward making Drupal more approachable for all.
