Keynote “The Web in 2035” Announced for DrupalCon Vienna 2025
DrupalCon Vienna 2025 will host a forward-looking keynote titled “The Web in 2035”, bringing together key voices from the open source world to explore what the internet might look like a decade from now. The session is scheduled for Wednesday, 15 October 2025 and will be a central highlight of the conference.
Moderated by Aikaterine Tsiboukas, the panel will include Sachiko Muto, Derick Rethans, Ondřej Mirtes, and Sebastian Bergmann—each known for their work shaping web standards, open technologies, and programming practices. Their discussion will focus on the trends, technologies, and policy shifts likely to define the next era of web development.
As part of the DrupalCon Vienna program, the keynote aims to offer insight into how open source communities can prepare for a more complex, interconnected, and privacy-conscious web. Topics will include the evolution of software tooling, the sustainability of open ecosystems, and the changing role of developers in a fast-moving digital landscape.
DrupalCon Vienna takes place from 14–17 October 2025 and will feature technical sessions, contribution sprints, and community events across four days.
