Public Sector Agencies Can Now Access Major AWS Discounts via Salsa Digital
Eligible Australian public sector agencies can now access deep discounts on AWS cloud services through a new federal deal—and Salsa Digital is enabling easy onboarding.
Under the AWS Whole-of-Government Agreement (WofGA) 3.0, effective from 1 May 2025, federal, state, and local governments—as well as public universities and government-owned corporations—can receive enterprise-grade pricing and support typically reserved for large-scale private sector clients.
Salsa Digital offers access to these benefits via an indirect private pricing attachment (PPA) model, partnering with AWS distributor NextGen. This route allows agencies to contract with Salsa rather than AWS directly while retaining full access to WofGA 3.0 discounts.
The deal includes:
- Tiered cross-service discounts across nearly all AWS offerings
- Reduced S3 storage pricing
- Investment credits for new projects
- AWS Enterprise On-Ramp support staffed in Australia
- Improved contractual terms tailored to public sector needs
To qualify, agencies must commit to a three-year term and meet a minimum spend threshold of USD $25,000. Salsa manages a new AWS account structure—consisting of a billing-only "payer" account and one or more "service" accounts—to comply with WofGA requirements. Crucially, service continuity is maintained throughout.
Discounts under WofGA 3.0 stack with existing AWS savings mechanisms, including reserved instances and savings plans, offering substantial cost reductions. Salsa also provides monthly billing in AUD, local support, and streamlined procurement for a frictionless cloud experience.
Agencies planning new workloads or aiming to reduce cloud expenditure can contact Salsa to check eligibility and initiate onboarding.
