Drupal Association Opens Self-Nominations for 2026 At-Large Board Election
Nominations have opened for the 2026 Drupal Association At-Large Board Election, with one community-elected seat available on the organisation's Board of Directors. The nomination window opened on 16 June 2026 at 00:00 UTC and closes on 30 June 2026 at 23:59 UTC. Nominations submitted outside that window will not be considered.
The election is part of the Drupal Association's staggered two-year board term structure. The open seat follows the completion of the 2024–2026 term held by Alejandro Moreno. The at-large role gives the community an elected representative within the Association's board governance.
Candidates for the at-large position must self-nominate. The election page says this requirement helps ensure candidates are willing and able to serve if elected. Community members who believe another person would be a strong candidate are asked to encourage that person to submit their own nomination.
Eligible Drupal community members can submit nominations through the election form linked from Drupal.org. After a nomination is received, Drupal Association staff will create a candidate page on Drupal.org using the submitted form responses. Candidates will then be assigned as authors of their pages so they can update or add information supporting their candidacy.
The Drupal Association also encourages community members with marginalised identities to self-nominate. Candidate announcements are scheduled for 7 July 2026, followed by a Get to Know the Candidates period from 7 July to 21 July 2026. An open community forum is scheduled for 15 July 2026 at 16:00 UTC, and an asynchronous Slack meeting is scheduled for 16 July 2026 at 15:00 UTC.
Voting opens on 22 July 2026 at 00:00 UTC and closes on 14 August 2026 at 23:59 UTC. Drupal Association individual memberships must be active by 21 July 2026 at 00:00 UTC for members to be eligible to vote. The new board member announcement is scheduled for 26 August 2026.
