KWLUG September Meeting Today: Drupal and GrapheneOS Talks at Waterloo Tech Week
The Kitchener-Waterloo Linux User Group (KWLUG) will host its September meeting on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, featuring presentations on Drupal and GrapheneOS. The event runs from 4:30 AM to 7:30 AM (local time) at the University of Waterloo's Dana Porter Library, Room LIB323.
As part of Waterloo Tech Week, the event highlights two key open-source technologies. Megan McDermott and Martin Anderson-Clutz will present on Drupal, the widely-used content management system that powers complex websites including the University of Waterloo's own. Their talk will explore Drupal's dual nature as a community-driven open-source project and a commercial platform.
Doug Moen will follow with an overview of GrapheneOS, a security- and privacy-focused alternative firmware for Android devices. His presentation will cover how GrapheneOS enhances mobile operating system security while remaining fully open source.
The event is free to attend and offers both in-person and online participation via BigBlueButton.
