Athens Vibe Coding Competition Scheduled for 23 April at Drupal Developer Days 2026

Drupal Developer Days 2026 will feature the Athens Vibe Coding Competition on 23 April 2026 from 14:00 to 17:00, where selected developers will build a complete application live on stage using AI tools. The three-hour session will take place at OTE Academy in Marousi, Athens, as part of the event programme. Organised by Frederik Wouters and the Drupal Developer Days team, the competition places participants in a time-bound, public coding environment.

The format requires finalists to build an application from scratch without prior knowledge of the assignment. The challenge is revealed live on stage, with participants expected to deliver a functional solution within a single sitting while working in front of an audience.

Applications are open to all developers. Participants must submit their profiles, including details of AI tools used, previous projects, and supporting materials. Organisers will review submissions and select three finalists, who must be physically present in Athens to compete.

The competition allows the use of any AI tools, frameworks, or programming languages. Projects will be evaluated across criteria, including business impact, code quality, AI efficiency, relevance to Drupal and open source, and creativity and design.
